New York-based design practice New Affiliates have renovated an apartment located in an old industrial space in Brooklyn, New York. Renovated for a fashion designer, the new interior combines unfinished rough materials like exposed steel, raw plywood, mesh screens with restrained blocks of color such as green-lacquered kitchen island and bright copper pipes. The use of contrasting materials make the interior clean, light while maximizing the usable space in the loft apartment. A sleeping platform, clad in plywood, is located on a mezzanine level accessed via an open-tread staircase.
